This solfeo is to practice the high notes on the staff, notice the ledger lines that you need to have to write the high notes.
Here you can see high notes, but not so high, you can only see one ledger line, do you see it?.
More high notes, for now they are not to easy to read, but you will get use to them. This solfeo may take a lot more then five minutes to learn.
In this solfeo you can see a lower "Si", the first beat in the last measure, this note is half step lower than middle Do.
More lower notes, alwasy follow the order of the notes, going down is Do-Si-La-Sol-Fa-Mi-Re-Do-Si-La anso on.
As you can see it seems that we are going too fast to learn, but if you are in this solfeo, is because you like music and you really want to learn.
Solfeos like this may take an hour to learn or more, but do not go to the next solfeo unless you really can read and play this one.
Before getting more rhythms you are practicing this many jumps, is not easy but it is really good Take your time to learn this one.
In this solfeo you can see that you are going from low notes all the way to high notes, a great practice.
This is like your final test to start learning new rhythms. Even when it looks so difficult, by practicing you will see that you can actually play it and read it.
A new rhythm now. A Dotted half note. This note last three counts. Notice how you only have two notes in the first measure, because the dotted half note takes up three counts.
Here you can see a "Tie" it creates the same effect as the dotted half note. You play the first note, but you don't play the second note, you don't play it but you do hold the sound for three counts.
Listen to the solfeo carefully, and you will hear that you don't play the second note in the tie, you see it, but you just have to hold the sound.
A dotted half note, and a half note tie to a quarter note, is the same, they both last 3 counts.
You will hear that some parts sounds like a nice melody, it may even remind you of a song you may know.
Remember, the tie, makes the sound longer, you play the first note, and don't play the next note.
Sometimes you need to hold a sound for more than four counts, is when you have to use the tie. Notice the tie from the fourth beat in measure 6 tie to the first beat in measure 7, this note last 5 counts.
It's almost time to start learning more rhythms and more notes. Congratulations for reaching this point. You are great.
