A Chord is when you play three notes at the same time.

The notes must be different, like C-E-G

You can not play three notes like: C-G-C because this is not a chord

You have three notes: C-G-C, but in reality you have only 2 notes ( C and G )

There are many, many chords. As you learn more and more, I will show you how you can learn to play all the chords.

If you are not a beginner, please take the course of "In The Key Of C" and "Intervals"

This will help a lot.

Let's start with your first chord

The Em Chord

Mi-Sol-Si

The chords has three notes (Mi-Sol-Si) or (E-G-B)

The E minor or Em is a really simple chord to play.

Watch the first song "Baby First Song" and you see how you can play that chord

Learn to play the Em Chord in this first song. THere is only one Chord in the whole song so you should be able to play it. Listen to the song and follow the rhythm.

I hope you already know how to play the Em Chord. Remember the little "m" in front of the letter "E" means "minor" so you have to say "E minor". Have fun playing this song.

Bambino means "little boy" in Italian. We continue playing songs in the key of Em using only one chord, the Em chord. In real life I don't know any song that has only one chord. it will be too boring. Soon you will learn more chords.

A Rock song. In this class, you will be playing so many styles, and rhythms and songs, to have an idea of so many kinds of music. Also you will see the music written in different ways. Like this one, you just see the staff and the name of chords on top. If you see something like this, you already have to know how to play each chord. In this case is only the Em.

Now a slow song. Using the Em chord, again. You may not want to play all the songs, if you do is better, but I have many songs so you get the idea that once you know how to play chords, you can play all the songs in the world.

Time to learn a new chord. The Am (A minor). You need to take this class, along with more classes, like, Guitar or Piano studies, and your normal Music Theory lessons. Learning music requires many things. So play this song in the key of Am. "Siglos" means "Centuries" in Spanish

In this song, you need to play two chords, Em and Am. Be careful when switching from one chord to the other, make sure you change the chord on time, and play a good sound. The song is slow, so I think you have time to change chords. Good luck!

This song has only one chord Am. The song is short, so you can play all the songs and it will be good. The more you play the better.

This song is in a Japanese Style, with only two chords, sounds really nice. play it several times and you will feel the rhythm. By this time you should know the Em and Am really good.

This song also has two chords, Em and Am, but is in a rock style. If you compare this song to Konichiwa, you can see a big difference in the song and the sound, but notice that both songs are using the same chords.

The student requires 10 points in Chords Classes

The teacher will choose 1 song from 1 - 10 and the student must play it by ear.

Without looking at the music, the student must know what chords are playing. They should know the name of the chords, and what notes you have in each chord

After the student pass the test, they get 10 point towards their certificate. They need 300 points or 3 UNITS to receive a certificate.

Every test must be in the presence of a authorize CMC Music Teacher.
